Rakesh Sood is a reputed textile consultant and a social activist. Having studied engineering from BITS Misra, Rakesh was part of 7th batch of engineers to join BHEL, India’s largest power equipment manufacturer. He also worked with leading organizations like Bharat Forge Ltd and Kirloskar Brothers Ltd before he found his calling in the textile industry working as a consultant for upcoming enterprises and help them establish supply chain and distribution networks. An astute political and social observer, Rakesh believes in principles of working for the society and upliftment of poor, a virtue instilled in him through his forefathers. He has been actively involved in various social programmes like Ganga Action Parivar, Rishikesh (Uttrakhand) and ATAC program of FICCI DRDO. His current role involves acting as an advisor & project coordinator for promoting & building Bio Digester Toilets in India. Centre for Social Development is his latest initiative to promote and support programs with relevance to under privileged and down trodden in India.
